Where Your Dollars Go

All funds raised through pledges and donations at the MLSE Team Up Challenge will help to send more than 150 families to Camp Trillium. Camp Trillium is the only camp in North America offering and promoting recreational experiences to for children living with cancer and their families.

“When a child gets cancer it’s incredibly destructive for the whole family. At Camp Trillium, they can meet other families who are going through or have gone through the same thing. They can swap tips and information but they can also listen and learn and take comfort from each other.”  ~ Marci Shea-Perry, Executive Director, Camp Trillium.

Camp Trillium exists without government funding and operates with an annual budget of approximately $2.5 million. Your money helps to ensure there continues to be a place where families come together and children living with cancer can be kids again.

“When Sarah was diagnosed we lived in the hospital for half a year, your regular life gets put on hold. To watch her play with other kids and not with doctors and nurses is a miracle.” ~ Mark Watkin, Camper, Parent of a Cancer Survivor

“When you have cancer, everyone treats you differently. People always make sure your needs are met first. That’s great but here at Camp Trillium we live with a normal playing field. Everyone here has experience with cancer and because of that everyone understands you have to be treated as a kid first and a cancer patient second.” ~ Rachel Friesen, Camper, Cancer Survivor

By donating to the MLSE Team Up Challenge, your money does more than send a family to camp. You’re helping to provide these ordinary yet life changing experiences for the hundreds of children diagnosed with cancer every year and their families.
